I declined a previous request for patroller two months ago [2][3] and told MTRIProd that RFH is the place to request this flag after gaining more experience. Today his edit count is higher, but mostly due to translations, there are just two reverts [4]. I'm fine with granting autopatrol, but there should be more experience in fighting vandalism on Meta for granting patroller rights in my opinion – especially as MTRIProd still doesn't seem familiar with our guidelines, as he requested the flag at the wrong places again [5][6][7]. --Johannnes89 (talk) 05:07, 9 June 2023 (UTC)

I agree with Johannnes89's decline. The right does nothing to prevent vandalism, and it is not required to have the right to undo vandalism. Typically we grant it where it is clearly required.  — billinghurst sDrewth 05:11, 9 June 2023 (UTC)
@Johannnes89 Thanks for your respond. Regarding patrolling, I have gained a lot of experience as a patroller on viwiki (like the contributions I provided above). The fact that you pointed out the requests in the wrong place, I would like to answer as follows: when I see the member pages of those members, I know that they are the admins in the meta and I want to ask for permission directly from them. As for the fact that there are only 2 reverts, I would like to respond that after the patrol flag, the reverse will be easier and faster. That is my opinion. But I think it's better to have patrol rights because having the patrol flag gives other admins more confidence in my edits and it's an honor for me to be on the maintenance and vandalism team at this MetaWiki. Hello! I was wondering if an available Meta administrator could grant me patroller rights here. I am a rollbacker on simple Wikipedia and a Rollbacker, reviewer, extended confirmed user, and New page reviewer/patroller on English Wikipedia. I have over 7,500 edits globally. Given your low edit count on Meta, I'm not even sure autopatrolled rights would be necessary, much less patroller rights. You have never been active in patrolling recent changes on Meta, I see just two reverts in total (of which one is a self-revert and one is reverting a bot malfunction) and one (declined) speedy deletion request.
Looking at several suggestions on your enwiki talk page (e.g. [8]) to act more slowly in order to familiarise yourself with your newly accomplished rights and the corresponding policies, I'm not sure it's a good idea to just grant another right. Johannnes89 (talk) 15:07, 10 June 2023 (UTC)

Please mass delete all “translation” units of “DE_policy/Transparenz/en” (see all units in all languages). Deletions backlogged

Could I get some admin attention at Category:Deleteme? There are several entries that have languished there for over a month. * Pppery * it has begun 17:41, 24 June 2023 (UTC)

IMHO it would be more helpful if the {{looks useless}} taggings were instead discussed at RFD. Right now the template sort of stealthily populates speedy deletion categories with pages that often don't have enough context for an admin to take a decision. ~~~~

I do not agree with this kind of mix-up. Speedy deletions are clearly identifiable and generally there is only a small chance of error, while this kind of procedure asks to a single administrator to evaluate if an older page should be kept as archive/reference or deleted. The aforementioned template contains in fact the expression: "You can delete the page if it is really useless". --M/ (talk) 19:01, 24 June 2023 (UTC)
These expired looks useless are sort of polluting that group - and with them being so useless they likely aren't bothering anyone except patrolling admins who need to speedily delete things that are in the way or are active problems. — xaosflux Talk 23:35, 24 June 2023 (UTC)
May I propose the edit of the template {{looks useless}} ({{event trigger|Deleteme|Looks useless|when=60 days}} into {{event trigger|Useless pages|Looks useless|when=60 days}}) so that it places the tagged pages into a new category, for example Category:Useless pages. --M/ (talk) 09:29, 25 June 2023 (UTC)
Since some of the pages tagged as {{looks useless}} actually get speedy deleted I suggest simply moving those pages which stay in the Category:Deleteme for 7+ days to Meta:Requests for deletion. Question About a Possible Global Lock

Hi, today my account (which was named Sierpnia at the time) was granted an unlock appeal that I had filed back in January of last year. And I am quite happy about that. However, there have been mentions of this account being connected to an alt account of mine which is still globally locked (Skiyomi). If I promise to behave myself here on this account, can this account please stay open even though my alt account is still globally locked? (This account is the first one I ever made here.) @Trafalgar Ann first of all: please fix your signature at Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-personal-signature – it should link to at least either your user page or user talk page.
Regarding your second account: Special:CentralAuth/Skiyomi has been WMF banned last week. Neither Meta sysops/bureaucrat nor stewards can/are allowed to overrule this decision. You would need to discuss this with WMF T&S.
@Xaosflux fyi since you unlocked Sierpnia/Trafalgar Ann [11], have you been aware of the foundation ban by @WMFOffice? @Ferien: User:AmandaNP's userpage has a Canadian flag on the top right corner and the user in question's username seems like a poor job at amalgamating Amanda and Canadian together; in addition to having two letters at the end, similar to AmandaNP's, it's highly unlikely that this was not an attempt to impersonate AmandaNP.
