Wikidata output as input[edit]

How can Wikidata date values be used and formatted? The documentation on formatting is limited. My desired output is eg.

  • 18 November 2023 9:30 – 10:30 UTC or
  • 18 November 2023 9:30 – 10:30 UTC (14.30 – 15.30 EET) or
  • 18 November 2023 – 19 November 2023 (or preferably 18–19 November 2023 but both are fine)

I am creating a template where the input is

  • {{{qid|}}}
  • start time (P580) (similarly point in time (P585) and end time (P582)) from Wikidata as 2023-11-18T00:00:00Z via {{Data|item={{{qid|}}}|property=p585}}. These are all dates, not times.
  • start time and end time as user input via {{{starttime|}}} and {{{endtime|}}}.
  • Input is UTC by default.

Here's my template Template:Wiki_Loves_Living_Heritage/Eventdata and here's the page where I want to use it Wiki_Loves_Living_Heritage/Wiki_Loves_Living_Heritage_Bazaar_at_GLAM_Wiki_2023.

I would like to add a Zonestamp link either to the whole expression or the start and end times separately.

Thank you for your help with this! Cheers, Susanna Ånäs (Susannaanas) 🦜 08:02, 6 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
