Ayuda para completar la unificación de cuentas

Buenas

Saludos.--Moinante 13:41, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
Saludos. —Marco Aurelio (Nihil Prius Fide) 03:12, 21 January 2012 (UTC)

If you have a moment

Could you take a look at this filter. I stole the basics from one of yours but I am still not sure exactly how to get them to work! You should be able to see what I'm trying to do. When I get it working I will make it a "disallow" on here & Commons - there have been quite a few recently. Thanks & best --Herby talk thyme 14:22, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

Sorry for the late reply. I'll have a more deep look tomorrow. I think I see what's wrong. Sorry for the inconvenience. —Marco Aurelio (Nihil Prius Fide) 00:01, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
It may be that it does but my previous attempts have not worked :( No inconvenience and any help much appreciated. Best --Herby talk thyme 10:52, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
Done? Best. —Marco Aurelio (Nihil Prius Fide) 15:12, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
Many many thanks - let's see if it works (I've updated the Commons one too). It seems odd that each statement needs to be split rather than simply "|" but I'll try another test one maybe and see if I can "prove" it before the spammers arrive - best --Herby talk thyme 16:55, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
You're welcome y'know. I think it's needs review. Drini is good at filters (& Mike was but he's since retired so...). IIRC Hoo man is good. Also Church of emacs if I remember correctly too. Explain to them what do you want the filter doing and they will make the appropiate filter :) Best. —Marco Aurelio (Nihil Prius Fide) 21:27, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

That filter works just fine - I've now made it "disallow" and will do the same on Commons - may be useful elsewhere - many thanks & regards --Herby talk thyme 09:46, 30 January 2012 (UTC)

Glad to know it works. Thanks. —Marco Aurelio (Nihil Prius Fide) 10:55, 30 January 2012 (UTC)

You're welcome! :)

I expect one day to write an English text without typos or grammar mistakes - /me sighs. Thank you, really. —Marco Aurelio (Nihil Prius Fide) 21:28, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
Not a problem at all, English is a hard language, especially with all the odd irregularities that we have! Estoy aprendiendo español and I've realised that there are all these different tenses in English that I didn't even have to think about before! :) The Helpful One 21:44, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
¿Aprendiendo español? :) Qué bien -- I understand English pretty well. For example I'm able to read & understand pretty well Administrative/Bussiness English & Court judgements, as well as a bit of "old" English (which I find more "interesting"). However since this is not obviously my mothertonge my comprehension and interpretation is wrong sometimes. The problem is at writting. I hope people can understand. And I must admit I sometimes feel like a burden for people that have to correct my sentences... Best regards. —Marco Aurelio (Nihil Prius Fide) 11:04, 30 January 2012 (UTC)

RE: Wikinoticias

Global AbuseFilter

Hey MarcoAurelio. Just wondering if there was any opposition that caused the global AbuseFilter to be shelved during the summer, or was it more just lack of interest and initiative to start a discussion on it? Thanks, Ajraddatz (Talk) 21:05, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

Hello Ajraddatz. Since they were requested in bugzilla:17811 and later coded in rev:49027 they never went live. Not because they were opposition to the idea (not that I'm aware of it) - I'm not sure what Andrew in bugzilla:17811#c2 means. I do not remember any discussion in meta regarding this, although I may be wrong. Hope that this helps. Thanks. —Marco Aurelio (Nihil Prius Fide) 21:22, 5 February 2012 (UTC)
Thanks. Just making sure that there wasn't some big argument that I didn't know about before taking steps forward with this :) Ajraddatz (Talk) 21:27, 5 February 2012 (UTC)
That's good. Thanks. —Marco Aurelio (Nihil Prius Fide) 22:35, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi. Barras suggested I contact you about this. See, User talk:Barras#Review of RfD closure Thanks. Alanscottwalker (talk) 18:37, 19 February 2012 (UTC)

24 h?

... Regards a×pdeHello! 22:41, 9 March 2012 (UTC)

Excuse me but I don't understand what you mean? —Marco Aurelio (Nihil Prius Fide) 22:43, 9 March 2012 (UTC)
You removed it some hours before the 24 hours were over. In the case of spacebirdy, I don't think it matter, she pretty well knows what she does. -Barras talk 22:49, 9 March 2012 (UTC)
I know and I'd have proceed the request immediately, but I was told to wait 24 hours because there has been a consense on stewardwiki. a×pdeHello! 23:18, 9 March 2012 (UTC)
Sorry but I'm not aware of any consensus nor of any policy in effect regarding this. I'll look at swiki shortly and see what's being cooked over there. Regards. —Marco Aurelio (Nihil Prius Fide) 23:21, 9 March 2012 (UTC)
Just saying that a consensus that no one outside a special group of people can see is not binding. An agreement on a private wiki does not reflect the opinion of a whole community and is not a policy. In some cases it is useful to wait 24 hours, in others it doesn't matter much. When I'm absolutely sure that the user asking for removal really knows what they're doing, then I will process it. If I'm unsure, I will wait - it doesn't hurt. -Barras talk 23:27, 9 March 2012 (UTC)
I agree with you, Barras. Sorry but I have to ask if I really did something wrong. In my point of view Birdy's request was not a ragequit. I know Spacebirdy. She's a reasonable user and I had the absolute pleasure to work and be taught by her. I know she does not make rush decissions. In general I wait before processing requests, because it's better to be late than sorry; but in this case it seemed to me not required. —Marco Aurelio (Nihil Prius Fide) 23:39, 9 March 2012 (UTC)

Meta:Geen open proxies

Hello MarcoAurelio, I don't think Meta:Geen open proxies should've been deleted. Redirects - especially those on Meta - might very well be used in logs elsewhere. Could you please reconsider? Kind regards, Mathonius (talk) 15:01, 22 March 2012 (UTC)

Hello Mathonius. I stand by my deletion as useless redirect (no linked anywhere as far as I could see) and misplaced (it's not for Meta namespace). Regards. —Marco Aurelio (Nihil Prius Fide) 20:07, 22 March 2012 (UTC)

Special:AbuseFilter/31

Hello. Please see this comment. I have been active for quite some time on the proposals for closing projects, and since last year there is a closing projects policy. I did not know IPs couldn't edit the proposals. I don't like that at all (both the fact that I didn't know that, and that they are blocked from editing). That they're warned, I can understand, but blocking goes a bit too far. Please disable the filter, or change from blocking to warning, certainly now that there is a policy. Thank you, SPQRobin (talk) 20:29, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

It was an old filter, previous to the policy as you could see. It was designed and implemented to prevent fraud in the requests, and it worked. Now that there is a policy with objective, firm criteria for closing projects; as per your request I have disabled the filter. I'm not that confortable as I see issues. It shouldn't be hard, specially with SUL, to get an account at meta to comment. But, as you whish: filter is disabled. —Marco Aurelio (Nihil Prius Fide) 21:05, 25 March 2012 (UTC)
Thank you. I see it did indeed stop quite some vandalism, but in my opinion that should be handled by filters that actually target vandalism. SPQRobin (talk) 21:14, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks for reminding me :) I think that I'll be more active in the following months. Besides that, I poked again Sj about GRC (in person, during the conference in Berlin) and he told me that he will take care about it. --Millosh (talk) 21:12, 1 April 2012 (UTC)

No problem, it was part of the process. It would be good to see you more active again, but that's not something we can decide sometimes. Regarding the GRC I almost forgot, but it would be good if it could be approved. Between, which is the final and ready-to-approve version of the proposal? Thanks. —Marco Aurelio (Nihil Prius Fide) 21:24, 1 April 2012 (UTC)

I think there is a mistake

In my opinion domain name holiday4me.info was globaly blacklisted by mistake. This domain was included only in one page on Finnish wikipedia, and by the Wikipedia rules I think it should be blacklisted localy on Finnish blacklist. Sorry if I am wrong, I just wanted to tell you that I think may be this was mistake.

Guerra de ediciones "cross-wiki"

¡Hola, MarcoAurelio!

Otro abrazo, --Roy 13:04, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

A talk

Hello. Could you please take part in this talk?--Avocato (talk) 10:56, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

Hello Avocato. We currently don't have a written-in-stone rule regarding how long a bureaucrat must take to perform a rename as such each steward may apply sightly different standards but I tend to agree with Ruslik that it should be better if you contacted those local bureaucrats at their talk page or via email one or two times. While they're not very active editting it's possible that they still reply to messages left on their talkpages and/or emails. That's the experience I have over the years, at least. Hope that it helps. Regards, — MA (audiencia) 14:49, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

Hola

--Esteban (talk) 16:37, 30 July 2012 (UTC)

He revertido los cambios.

Moving travel content to Wikibooks

One of the reasons not to move to Wikibooks is that the editor community their does not really want this content [2] Also travel content has its own policies and guidelines and we already own a bunch of domain names surrounding this topic (Wikivoyage being just one) Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 16:50, 31 July 2012 (UTC)

Solicitud de checkuser - lista de correos (?)

Hola.

-- MarcoAurelio (talk) 19:49, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

Sysop abuse on the Serbo-Croation Wikipedia

I pray for your help. Administrator Serbo-Croatian Wikipedia Rjecina2, expressed hatred for the Serbs, that is, to me, I copied it from Serbian Wikipedia pattern of the Yugoslav wars. Behaves fascist to me. I was blocked for a week. Greeting! --Kolega2357 (talk) 11:46, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

I apologize for using your talk page for this kind of discussion. All these accusations are inaccurate and inappropriate. I'm a Serb, if that is important, and Kolega2357 is not blocked because of it. BTW, this is not the first time that we hear something like this from him. His previous accounts are locked and I really thought that he finally began contributing constructively, but the above comment confirms that I was wrong about him. micki 12:07, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
I am warned by Micki about this, but I will sleep like baby.
Short version is:
Kolega2357 is under name User:Velimir Ivanovic blocked indefinitely on minimal 3 wiki projects (en,hr,sr) with dream to become wiki or meta administrator.
On sh wiki using copy-paste "writing" he is adding articles from Serbian wiki. Until now he has been warned 2 times that it is not allowed to add articles about history of Yugoslav nations from national wiki projects (bosnian, croatian, serbian) because of very clear reasons, but he know better.
Today Kolega2357 has been informed that he has earned 3 day block which is his 3rd warning, but his answer has been "interesting" and now this has become 7 day block. In reality this need to be 2 weeks or 1 month block because after block he has edited wiki from IP address, but we are small wiki and we are strongly against long blocks and bans.--Rjecina2 (talk) 12:38, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

It is hardly fair I did not come up to help the Sh Wiki, still imagining that someone pushes you. I actually like a normal user nobody, harassing an administrator where is the logic? Rječina2 make yourself fair and honest with yourself. Regular users are mixed Serbian Wikipedia as usual, his custom would you attack someone. Firstly I do not call Velimir Ivanovic nor was I anything to do with it, such as contact, physically. Greeting! --Kolega2357 (talk) 12:48, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

I forgot to specify that the user Rjecina2 started to threaten. This can be seen here. Greeting! --Kolega2357 (talk) 12:54, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

As a fellow administrator on sh.wiki, I have to stand up and defend my colleague. As far as Kolega2357 is concerned, his case is pretty simple, actually. Initially, he was vehemently (despite all warnings) spamming each and every user on sh.wiki as to how he can become an administrator, sysop, etc. After he had been warned, he tried to deflect every warning as a form of attack and/or false accusation, including the one that he, which has been confirmed by several people from the Serbian Wikipedia, is User:Velimir Ivanovic, who has been blocked on several Wikipedia projects indefinitely, which has been mentioned above. We on sh.wiki have been exceptionally patient with him, warning him in hope that he will correct his mistakes and start contributing constructively, without just copying articles from the Serbian Wikipedia. So far, he has, perhaps, written one or two of his own articles, everything else was an exact copy from the Serbian Wikipedia, which isn't forbidden per se, but here is the problem - by transferring the articles without editing he has caused several major difficulties so far. Firstly, some of the articles he copied are/have been labeled as incomplete or with some form of error in them, but our dear Kolega has copied them in that exact form and, in addition to that, he has removed every label so it seems now that a bad article on the Serbian Wiki is good on sh.wiki, which is ridiculous. Secondly, he has copied every template they have on sr.wiki thereby creating a couple of hours-long mess for us to fix. Thirdly, he has breached the rule of copying SFRY-related articles from sr.wiki after having been warned. On several occasions, he has falsly accused other users of attaching him or threatening him, he has tested the patience of all administrators and he has once, already, been blocked. Any form of commmunication with him results in him accusing you of either overly warning him or threatening him. User Rjecina has done a correct thing and, as far as the duration of the block is concerned, exceptionally benevolent towards Kolega --Edgar Allan Poe (talk) 13:54, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Kolega2357, you attacked Rjecina2 on his talk page after you have been blocked, under IP adress [3]. So please dont create wrong picture about yourself.--Zarathushtra (talk) 14:21, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Rjecina's actions in this particular case might be debatable, but implying ethnic/political motives or breaking the Godwin's Law is counterproductive for Kolega's cause, to say the least. Problems that led to block had been extensively discussed. General consensus was that Kolega needed to pay more attention to other users' suggestions and concerns about copying articles from sr.wiki. Rjecina2 today interpreted Kolega's latest actions as rejection of such consensus and acted accordingly. If Rjecina2 made mistake in doing so, the appropriate forum to address that problem is sh.wiki, not Meta whose regular users, I believe, have more pressing and more important tasks than deliberating merits of a single user on single wiki being blocked for few days. --OC Ripper (talk) 14:57, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Hello all. Kolega2357, if you want me to unblock you there or remove Rjecina2's administrator rights on shwiki I am afraid that it cannot be done. Whereas the stewards had sometimes stepped in the projects and performed a number of actions there included removal of adminship, we do that mostly in emergency situations or when it is really necessary to protect the project or the users from serious ongoing stuff. We are not a Court of Appeals either except in the cases mentioned above. I am afraid that your case does not fall into this category and I belive that the best you can do is to talk with the community at shwiki and engage on a discussion with them. Some points:

  • Several users above mentions that you are copying articles from srwiki to shwiki. While translating articles from one language into another is allowed in most projects as far as I know, you can not simply copy and paste them there without mentioning in the summary from where they come from. Please read the relevant section of our Terms of Use for more details. Notwithstanding it is true as somebody said above that what it might be relevant to one wiki, might not be relevant to others. And what one wiki considers good, it might not be good in other. You should pay attention to that.
  • Banned topics: I am not sure if shwiki has an specific rule that bans from creating articles regarding Yugoslavia, Bosnia, Serbia, Montenegro, etc. or if it is a restriction that they have placed to you. I can understand those are very controversial topics but banning a language edittion from having such articles would not be appropiate IMHO. But as I've said I have probably misread that (feel free to explain me a bit further if you want to).
  • Sockpuppetry issues: I don't know this user nor his alleged sockpuppet(s). If you have strong evidence (that is: suspicion of abuse of multiple accounts and if they're multiple accounts, how that multiple account use would consist in a violation of the policies of the project) you can fill a request at Steward requests/Checkuser providing evidence of that; and a steward will analyze the evidence provided and will decide whether the check is justified or not. The Serbian Wikipedia has local CheckUsers so requests for srwiki can't be done here.
  • Alleged block evasions: most projects consider evading blocks (specially those imposed with community consensus) disruptive. There are allegations above that Kolega2357 has editted as an anonymous user evading a block. If that is true I would suggest you not to. I am not sure if shwiki has rules about that (most wikis do not) but generally blocks increase because of that. This edit is very similar to this other edit made here.

To sum up: as OC Ripper said, this is best resolved locally. So please try to appeal your block there and discuss with the shwiki community the issues. If and only if you try to resolve the issues locally and you don't get them resolved you may try to fill a Request for comment but be adviced that it'll only serve to gauge comments from others. I am here for years and excluded Meta affairs and a couple of serious problems, most RfC are useless.

Question..

Hello. I find a strange thing: Steward_requests/Permissions/Approved_temporary#Devunt.40kowikinews. Steward Jusjih said 'Done to expire on 2011-09-12.'. But it is classified 'Expiring: 12 September 2012'. Would you please check it? Thank you for your hard work. :) Regards, Sotiale (Talk·Contribs) 09:29, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

Hello Sotiale. I've searched on the archives and the rights log to see if there was an extension of the permissions and I could not find anything so I have removed the so long expired permissions and left a message about this to Devunt over kowikinews. Thanks for your message. Regards. -- MarcoAurelio (talk) 10:25, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
But, some difficult thing occur. Korean Wikinews has proceeded new admin election, since 2011.8.27. Devunt closed election, 2012.8.1. problem is that; He protected election page. Support rate is just 72.2%. Korean Wikinews don't exist crat, candidiate will be granted by steward. As far as I know, minimum support rate is 75%, right? But proceeding election is blocked, cuz He protected page. ..... There is no active admin. Would you plase give me an advice? Sotiale (Talk·Contribs) 10:49, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
+ It is failed election? cuz He closed it. But he announced 'successful'. ...-_-; I'm confused. Sotiale (Talk·Contribs) 10:55, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
The current practice here is to grant administrator rights when there's at least a 75% support rate, yes. But if kowikinews has a different rule we will respect it. I see that Devunt protected n:ko:위키뉴스:관리자 선거/Idh0854 with a summary that translates somewhat to "administrator election ended". I do not know if kowikinews has specific rules regarding the duration of requests for adminship either but probably that the candidacy lasted one year is a bit odd. Please note also that Idh's requests were rejected twice here and here. Regards. -- MarcoAurelio (talk) 11:03, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
I already know that ldh's request was rejected. All reason is support rate. Korean Wikinews don't have a rule about admin election. tacit consensus is that; If enough support rate is verified, any user do SRP. I think, it follow steward's judgement. hmm.. Then, election is rejected? Sotiale (Talk·Contribs) 11:08, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
I personally would reject the candidacy because not reaching the required 75% support. Sometimes exceptions are made but I am not used to do them. Regards. -- MarcoAurelio (talk) 11:13, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
OK, I will inform ldh about his election is rejected. (reason 1: Devunt closed election, reason 2: It not reaching minimum support rate.) Thank you for your considerate reply. Have a good time. :) Sotiale (Talk·Contribs) 11:16, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
My answer can't be considered a formal rejection because nothing here depends just on me. If you want a formal acceptance or rejection of that candidacy you may post at Steward requests/Permissions because stewards' talk pages are not the place for posting steward requests. For transparency they should be posted and resolved in the request page because we all watch it and can know about the requests. Regards. -- MarcoAurelio (talk) 11:25, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
Don't worry, I once submit this request. I don't know I take your precious time.. I'm sorry and thanks a lot. Regards, Sotiale (Talk·Contribs) 11:29, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

Note: This time, the "Wikimedia Foundation highlights" section does not include the usual coverage of the most notable work of Foundation staff during that month. Instead, it contains a list of talks given by Foundation staff at Wikimania, summarizing their most important work the year over. It looks like a lot of text, but only the talk titles will need to be translated. The intention is that these titles alone can already give readers a good overview of what the Foundation is working on in general.

I think that some admins hesitate to delete 위키브레이크, Because cannot judge whether it has problem or not. I'm sure that this is nonsense page, please delete it. Hi Marco, I asked for the deletion of the page because it was in the wrong namespace. I'll remember to put the reason next time. Thanks! 06Ivonne (talk) 14:52, 18 September 2012 (UTC)

mistake?

Hi Marco,

Thank you for doing this unthankful job of notifying people that their admin status is under review.

I am a bit wondering how you do this check of 10 actions though. In the past month I did 10 MediaWiki edits (I believe this still requires admin access?) and besides that made a few edits in the CentralNotice system. Still, it would only be narrowly above the threshold of 10 - so no big deal, but perhaps the case can help you improve your processes :) Best, Effeietsanders (talk) 11:00, 1 October 2012 (UTC)

Hi Effeietsanders,
First of all I would like to apologize for the mistake for listing you (and Notafish fwiw) on the to-sign list. I take the stats from this tool, however its results needs to be reviewed individually since some admin actions are not listed here or some steward actions are listed as admin actions which is wrong (I requested an improvement of the tool in jira:VVV-31 and jira:VVV-32). As such I spent the whole yesterday checking stats, reviewing contributions and public/private logs for each regular Meta-Wiki administrator. In that phase I assume I got confused by numbers or browser tabs and added your name mistakenly. I don't know what it happened exactly but yes, you're right and this is a mistake. As such I've removed your name from the confirmation pages.
MediaWiki edits of course count as admin action, the same as editting protected pages or doing CentralNotice stuff. You need at least admin tools for doing that.
The job is indeed unthankful and annoying, for me and I suppose for you all as well. I guess nobody likes to be told that you're inactive —specially when it's a mistake—.
Thanks for letting me know and sorry for any inconvenience. I'll review the lists more times before posting.
Regards,
-- MarcoAurelio (talk) 13:22, 1 October 2012 (UTC)
Hey Marco,
No need to apologize :) Thanks for clearing up - mistakes are a part of the game. I don't think it is reasonable either if you spend even more time on the activity-checking, but maybe it would help if the checking happened a few days earlier, and to just publish the list (but not yet the notifications) so that other people can help check it if they like? Just a suggestion :).
I hope the bug gets fixed - not so much because there shouldn't be errors, but also because it should save you a lot of time! Thanks again,
Effeietsanders (talk) 13:29, 1 October 2012 (UTC)
Hi. I like your suggestion and I (if I'm still around) will do it by the next activity round. External audit is good. Thanks. Regards, -- MarcoAurelio (talk) 13:35, 1 October 2012 (UTC)

This is my personal request? --Kolega2357 (talk) 19:28, 13 October 2012 (UTC)

Hello. All the wikis you mention have local administrators. As such you'll have to ask the admins over there for protections I'm afraid. Kind regards. -- MarcoAurelio (talk) 19:54, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
Can you you please do me that I would not have any of the administrator contacted? --Kolega2357 (talk) 20:12, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
I can provide you a list of adminboards so you can request such protections if that's what you meant. Regards. -- MarcoAurelio (talk) 18:29, 17 October 2012 (UTC)

Additional feedback at Wikidata talk:Requests for permissions#Critera

Hey there. Thanks for handing out the mops. I just wanted to let you know that I brought up over at Wikidata talk:Requests for permissions#Critera that one of the users who meets your criteria appears to have been skipped over. This is also Sven Manguard (talk) 18:37, 8 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi. You're welcome. It's a pleasure to be of any help when I can. I have replied to your question over there. Regards. -- MarcoAurelio (talk) 18:54, 8 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi, I just want to know something about my requests

On wikidata I post this requests [7]. I'm requesting the adminship to add script that I have made on gadget and also make some maintenance and the answer to a deletion requests on wikidata.

And I make a little mistake because of my misunderstanding. Yes I don't know that cavassing was not allowed on wikipedia because someone send me the same thing so it's why I think it was allowed. Now I fix my signature and remove the most of link to repaire my mistake.

I want to know if my misunderstanding has big consequences for my requests? Does my request already lost or not? And if it's not lost how much should have I support to be an admin ?

Thanks in advance for your answer. --Jitrixis (talk) 11:20, 10 November 2012 (UTC)

Bonjour Jitrixis. The reason you were not promoted in the first batch was not because of the alleged canvassing. It was simply a matter of numbers. Now that your RfA is a week old, you have more than 10 support votes and more than 75% of support we can set the permissions to you. Best regards. -- MarcoAurelio (talk) 12:14, 10 November 2012 (UTC)
Ok. I was afraid that my mistake has an important fact to my request. Merci beaucoup, Cordialement --Jitrixis (talk) 12:37, 10 November 2012 (UTC)

Talk:Interwiki map

Thanks for archiving this talk! However, why didn't you follow the Standard archival system? In particular «The content is always archived to the last relevant archive page (i.e. the archive page which has the date of the period when you're archiving), regardless of the original date of addition of the content to the original page». It's a bit hard to find archived discussions now that they're spread across many subpages and by opening time rather than by closure time/rationale (there's often a reason why some requests are closed together). ;-) --Nemo 21:53, 10 November 2012 (UTC)

I must apologize. I did read the SAS long time ago and forgot that part, plus that I've been lately relying on bots to archive things so I'm a bit outdated in the manual archiving. From now I'll remember. I can fix those archived threads if you want. Thanks the note. Regards. -- MarcoAurelio (talk) 22:00, 10 November 2012 (UTC)
Thank you for being so kind with my nitpicking. I don't think it's worth to manually fix the archives, but it would probably be nice to be able to use MiszaBot also for such pages, by ordering the archival of each section when it's done (and disabling archival of simply stale sections). What would be useful now is adding the section titles to the archives (quite tedious as well). --Nemo 09:58, 11 November 2012 (UTC)
Perhaps Quentinv57 could run QuentinvBot on that page as well (as he does for Talk:Spam blacklist, as MiszaBot's script will not work properly for that page I think. Regards. -- MarcoAurelio (talk) 23:25, 13 November 2012 (UTC)

Ayuda

¡Hola!

-- MarcoAurelio (talk) 21:52, 18 November 2012 (UTC)

Confused about translating into English - you (MA) say it can't be done.

Hi, this is your response to a question I posted:

You can't translate to English because English is the source for all translations. That can change in the future, tho. So for now you'll have to make translations from English to another language you know if you wish to help. Regards. -- MarcoAurelio (talk) 17:04, 15 October 2012 (UTC)

However, I continue to receive requests for translations into Canadian English, such as:

14/11/2012 Hello Syaddoog,

You are receiving this e-mail because you signed up as a translator to Canadian English on Meta.

There is a new page to translate there: Fundraising 2012/Translation/Landing Page and Banner messages. You can translate it by clicking the following link:

Am I wasting my time doing these translations?

Advice on change of settings in sw-wikipedia

Hi, I am a bureaucrat on sw-wikipedia. I try to find someone who can advise us on how to proceed. We just took a vote at sw-wikipedia to have the settings changed for editing. We want to block unregistered users from starting new entries and to edit. We wanted to do this some years ago but then were told it is not allowed. By now we see that the policy has changed on a number of wikis. So we want to change it but do not know how to do it. So I ask you to help us with that change or to refer us to whosoever can do this. Can you please help us? Please respond to my page at http://sw.wikipedia.org/wiki/Majadiliano_ya_mtumiaji:Kipala Kipala Kipala (talk) 15:04, 5 December 2012 (UTC)

Thank you very much for the fast reply. Yes, we have taken a vote (http://sw.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Jumuia#Pendekezo:_Utaratibu_wa_kuanzisha_makala) , 5 participating, 4 in favor, one half/half. That is a good participation for the present state of our wikipedia. As for the editing: we take what we can get. With our small number of steady people and the growing number of nettiquette-free users, who just pop in and leave all kind of comments on article spaces any change will help. Yes, I would deeply appreciate if you help to file that ticket. And: get healthy first! I wish you a speedy recovery. I post this on Meta and sw and you please answer to sw. 91.98.113.164 19:09, 5 December 2012 (UTC) Sorry I forgot to signKipala (talk) 18:09, 7 December 2012 (UTC)
