Title The endangered African languages : The role of Wikimedians العنوان

Over 2000 languages are spoken in Africa-1/3 of the languages spoken across the globe. According to the Ethnologue , over 600 languages from Africa are severely endagered and needed urgent help.

Wikimedians have a major role to play in preserving and revatilisation of the endangered languages through the Wikipedia and its sister projects .

Participants will be introduce to the relevance of Wikipedia and its sister project in language preservation and documentation.
