From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Hatch A Wikimedian[edit]

Abstract/description[edit]

Hatch A Wikimedian is a leadership training program based on the Invest in Skills and Leadership Development of the Movement Strategy. It intends to train participants from being a simple contibutor to wikiproject administrator or campaign organizer. The over-all program is backed up by the Leadership Development Plan created by the Leadership Development Working Group in 2023.

Relationship to ESEAP or to the theme[edit]

This project is designed so that other experienced Wikimedians from other parts of the globe will be invited to provide their expertise to share with our local volunteers. This aims to pilot the Leadership Development Plan wherein other affiliates from the region could also follow through our series of lectures and pattern their implementation once we have successfully done this at the end of the project.

Session type[edit]

Lightning talk: 10-15 minutes

Duration[edit]

15 minutes

Session outcomes[edit]

At the end of the session participants will be motivated to also utilize the Leadership Development Plan for their Leadership Programs in their affiliates. They can also adapt the strategy we are using in structuring the track of each volunteer who would want to level-up their contribution and involvement in the movement. The participants will also learn that MSIG is also an effective way of accessing support for projects aligned in the Movement Strategy.
