Wikidata Data Partnerships: use cases for the Region[edit]

Abstract/description[edit]

With more than 23,000 active editors per month, Wikidata is arguably one of the most edited Wikimedia projects in 2023. Have you ever wondered how some institutions interact with Wikidata, and how you can also play an active role in bringing them into the Free Knowledge movement?

In this session, we will take a tour through the use cases of Smithsonian Libraries and Archives, 20th Century Press Archives and the Hong Kong Baptist University Library experiences with Wikidata, and how Wikimedia Deutschland can support your community in your data partnership efforts.

The sharing of three Wikidata use cases from North America, Europe and Asia provides the audience an opportunity to understand how different institutions across the world are interacting with Wikidata, and how Wikimedia Deutschland Data Partnerships team can support your efforts beyond the horizon.
