Learning and Evaluation/Archive/Translate

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

The library is a collection of learning resources, browse and share your own!

In order to make patterns available in as many languages as possible, the WMF Learning & Evaluation team is working on an easy way for editors to request translation of patterns from the meta volunteer translator community.

But in order to avoid making volunteer translators do unnecessary work, please only request translation of a pattern once it is mostly complete in its source language. In other words, please don't change |translate= to "YES" until a pattern has at least:

  • a clear problem and solution statement in the infobox
  • some additional information in the ==What problem does this solve?== and ==What is the solution?== sections beyond what is in the infobox).
  • one or two general considerations, examples of when to use the pattern, diagrams, photos, etc.
  • at least one related pattern, external link or reference

Please contact J-Mo if you have any questions or concerns.
