Initiatives[edit]

«Initiatives like Wikipedia Zero, Wikipedia Loves Libraries, Offline Wikipedia and the Small Languages Outreach Wikiproject [...]»: I've no idea how this list of things relates to the topic of EU policy, could someone clarify? Thanks, Nemo 17:23, 22 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Nemo. I really love that you are showing interest and helping me arrange the pages in a proper way. I honestly, truthfully appreciate it and I am happy for any help I can get. Thank you!
As to the question about the projects: What is unclear? It is stated that it would be good to Present our projects at relevant events. Is that not true or unwanted? The way it relates is that before you can say what your problem is, it is usually adviseable to present yourself. --Dimi z (talk) 22:29, 22 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
What do you mean "present yourself"? I encourage you to read my user page and to expand yours. ;-) I arrived here from a discussion on the WMIT mailing list linking to the EU policy page, if this what you're wondering.
On the projects, I was confused by three things: 1) how promotion falls under "EU policy" initiatives (very confusing); 2) why those projects in particular, which don't seem to carry any particular importance [but maybe the have one if one understands (1)], 3) what connection is there among those extremely different things [and again maybe knowing (2) would help understanding]. --Nemo 11:31, 23 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
1. Since we're talking about having regular activities in Brussels it is normal that we'd use this to represent/present ourselves. Our projects are part of what we're doing. 2. These projects are mentioned as examples. I could have picked others, but I thought these are really awesome projects with global reach. Since the EU is the largest international donor of development aid (including educational programmes) worldwide I believe that Wikimedia and the EU do have common goals and values. --Dimi z (talk) 17:10, 23 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
You're welcome to visit my user page on the English Wikipedia, which my meta page links to. I don't believe it is necessary repeat user informaiton across all wiki projects when there's a link to it. Also, you're welcome to join the conversation on the Wikimedia-l mailing list or to come to Brussels to the scheduled meeting.--Dimi z (talk) 17:10, 23 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
