suggestions[edit]

  • I remember some people stating that it would be wise to have some person external be present in the final organization (e.g. during the election) from for instance debian, mozilla etc. Maybe that could be taken into consideration as well? In a broader perspective, that would mean as item on the agenda: "actual organization of the vote itself: counting etc" Effeietsanders 11:54, 28 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
    • Thanks: It was simply missed. I added it.
  • Another possible issue: Checkuser. Who will be asked to CU, when will those persons be doing that (everybody, only when someone brings out suspicion etc). Eia.
    • As you know, we have one steward, so for urgent necessary I think we can manage it by ourselves. Preventing fraud will be topics, however due to time issue, a bit later. Aph.
      • Yes, I noticed that you have one (even two, counting Tim) int he committee. But afaik it was not sure yet that all committee members will be the actual "election officials"? Further, Imho you always need at least two CU's who are actually doing it. And however a steward is *able* technically to give himself CU-rights, I think it is important to state in front that these people have the right to give themselves, unlike normal practice, temp. CU on any wiki, including wiki's with their own CU. Effeietsanders 14:01, 28 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • Another one: What data will be brought out? Only percentages at the end? Will the names of people who have voted be brought out? Will that happen in real time? Will the percentages be in real time? Etc. Effeietsanders 11:58, 28 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

slight problem[edit]

I´m not sure if this is the correct place to note it, but it seems that at least one user was shown an out of date version of the endorsement site, when he was contemplating endorsing me: [1] . Note that I have changed the link he followed since, so you might want to follow the link as it was in this diff. For your convenience, a rough translation of what he stated:

"Hmm, is that link correct? Because I can´t see a singe entry for you, not from SonicR either. It only says something about your Identity not being confirmed yet. Signature "

This is a bit worrying to me, as the german wikinews is the place I have been most active at, and I am still missing 9 endorsements to be able to stand for vote, and I was expecting most to come from there. Many kind regards Sean Heron 20:52, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Can you tell us where he got the incorrect link? There's really not much we can do in this case, but I'd be happy to try to track down the issue. Philippe 20:55, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

The second external link in this topic, is the one I assume he followed. Regards Sean Heron 21:18, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I guess I'm really confused - it looks like that's a link that you gave him, or am I missing something totally? If it's a link that you gave him, and not one that we published, then I don't think there's a whole lot we can do. In addition, the endorsements site never really went "out of date" - the page has been available (as the same page) from the beginning of the endorsements phase. Philippe 23:15, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps I wasn´t clear enough. The user stated (as far as I understood), that he had been shown a page were I had not recieved any endorsements yet. I can only explain myself this as him being shown a non current page (i.e. old page/out of date page). 62.224.228.239 06:21, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Might have been a cache problem i guess? Not very uncommon, especially when not logged in. Effeietsanders 09:43, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Forwarding an idea[edit]
