Osun Wikimedia Network is a community of volunteers/wikimedians with the aim to build a strong base and diverse volunteers in Osun State and also improve and promote Wikimedia Foundation's free and open knowledge projects in Osun.
Osun Wikimedia Network is an affiliate of Wikimedia User Group Nigeria which foresee and promote Wikimedia projects and other projects of Wikimedia Nigeria movement in Osun state. Osun Wikimedia Network was approved by Wikimedia User Group Nigeria on July, 24th 2023.
This group of volunteers will contribute to Wikimedia projects with high impacts by collaborations, partnerships and also working with mission-aligned institutions to promote and establish Wikipedia and her sisters' projects in Osun state.
The community is also dedicated to recruiting, training and also organizing various online (Virtual), offline (Physical) activities such as: Workshops, Meet-ups, GLAMs, edit-a-thons and other related activities which will help to develop and bridge content and knowledge gaps in different/various Wikimedia projects, which the result will create opportunities for people interested in volunteering works, and forming partnerships that will promote Wikimedia projects in Osun.
The group is open to membership by all interested individuals.
